Medicinal food / enteral nutrition
In addition to service, MED TRUST's top priority is to provide people with fast and uncomplicated care. By supplying patients of the Austrian Health Insurance Fund in Vienna, MED TRUST is making a significant contribution to the better care of patients with curative nutrition.
Curative Nutrition:
There are two different forms of curative nutrition:
- „Enteral nutrition“ means nutrition via the gastrointestinal tract (gr. enteron = intestine) with special nutrient solutions
- „Parenteral nutrition“ is used in patients for whom nutrition via the gastrointestinal tract is no longer possible. The nutrients are administered directly into the bloodstream via infusions.
Enteral nutrition products are non-pharmacy-bound remedies that are subject to authorisation.
